Operation Support Our Schools Serves Students in Five School Districts

Operation Support Our Schools is the chapter’s philanthropic program that addresses food insecurity, financial supplements, vision, and dental care, provides toiletry items for students, recognizes achievements such as perfect attendance and acts of kindness, and responds to emergency situations.

Through a partnership with Communities In Schools Bay Area, students who attend campuses in Clear Creek ISD and Dickinson ISD are supported.

Additionally, optometrist Dr. Thomas generously reduces costs for examinations and prescription glasses, Dr. Cindy Castille donates her dental expertise, and Assistance League members serve as Campus Liaisons, regularly shopping for non-perishable nutritional items.

In the spring of 2021, a new program was launched – Snack Attack Packs – a collaborative effort between the chapter and its auxiliary, Assisteens of the Bay Area®. First meeting the need in Texas City ISD, the program has expanded to Deer Park ISD and, most recently, La Porte ISD. In August and September, adults and teens packaged 1500 kits containing a microwaveable meal, a sweet and salty snack, and a drink distributed by authorized district personnel to those who need that caloric boost.
