Assistance League of the Bay Area Partners with City of Webster Firefighters to Bring Holiday Cheer

Assistance League® of the Bay Area and the City of Webster Fire Department joined in spreading Christmas joy to a family that had suffered a tragic loss during this holiday season.

This family was referred to Assistance League by the school counseling department of McWhirter Elementary. Chapter members, Mr. Grinch, Santa Claus, and Fire Station #1 provided the family with clothing, food, Christmas decorations, and gifts.

Terry Overcash, the chapter’s Ready for Work Chair, found appropriate attire for men and women from the organization’s resale shop. The shop’s holiday extravaganza, held from mid-November through mid-December, had a wide range of Christmas home décor items such as wreaths, ornaments, and stocking stuffers for the family.

Chapter President Rebecca Saavedra, Secretary Sarah Foulds, and Valerie Piercy delivered the gifts to the family, while the Webster firefighters provided food and children’s clothing to complete the package.

This was an exceptional collaboration between the first responders and the organization based in this city.
