Assisteens® of the Bay Area have six philanthropic programs they independently manage – Birthday in a Box, Cause for Paws, Notes for Folks, Operation School Bell® Support, Project Family, and Project Snuggle.
Birthday in a Box
Provides party kits to at-risk students at a particular campus, along with a small gift and handwritten card.
Cause for Paws
Provides needed volunteer services to the League City Animal Shelter. Adoption kits are assembled for distribution to new pet owners.
Notes for Folks
Cards recognizing birthdays and other special occasions are created and shared with senior adults in the memory care unit who reside at HeartIs Clear Lake.
Operation School Bell Support
The teens participate in the chapter’s largest philanthropy through a variety of identified activities.
Two Saturdays per month, Assisteens spend time with children who are residents at the Bay Area Turning Point, a domestic abuse shelter. One hour is spent on tutoring and academics and the second hour is devoted to celebratory events.
Fleece blankets are made and are distributed to children who are residents at the Bay Area Turning Point, a domestic abuse shelter for women and children.
