Our newest philanthropy, approved by the membership in the spring of 2015, provides clothing and hygiene kits for victims of domestic and sexual assaults whose clothing has been retained by law enforcement as evidence. This is a partnership with the Bay Area Turning Point and the Friendswood Police Department.

The Assault Survivor Kits program was created to help meet some of the immediate needs of individuals victimized by these crimes.

Extending the sphere of partnerships to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, 295 kits were distributed between June 2017 and May 2018.

If not for Assistance League, this would be a resource we would have to find.”  Brenda Sykes, Bay Area Turning Point Interim President and CEO

“The survivor kits have proven to be essential in a client’s recovery and next step. Often times the victim is fleeing from their environment with literally the clothes on their back.  Having the kits gives them a sense of hope and the reality that help and assistance are available.”  Wykesha Kelley-Dixon, Bay Area Turning Point Senior Self Reliance Program Director

“Assistance League of the Bay Area is huge blessing our agency.   They, literally, appear in the clutch.”  Ashley Woodward, Bay Area Turning Point Shelter Director
