Assault Survivor Kits® provide clothing and hygiene kits for victims of domestic and sexual assaults whose clothing has been retained by law enforcement as evidence. This is a partnership with the Bay Area Turning Point, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, the La Porte and League City Police Departments, and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

The Assault Survivor Kits program was created to help meet some of the immediate needs of individuals victimized by these crimes.

Six hundred fifty (650) kits were distributed between June 2020 and May 2021.

If not for Assistance League, this would be a resource we would have to find.”  Brenda Sykes, Bay Area Turning Point Interim President and CEO

“The survivor kits have proven to be essential in a client’s recovery and next step. Often times the victim is fleeing from their environment with literally the clothes on their back.  Having the kits gives them a sense of hope and the reality that help and assistance are available.”  Wykesha Kelley-Dixon, Bay Area Turning Point Senior Self Reliance Program Director

“Assistance League of the Bay Area is huge blessing our agency.   They, literally, appear in the clutch.”  Ashley Woodward, Bay Area Turning Point Shelter Director
