2024 Recognition Award Application Form

 

Eligibility:

This scholarship is open to Mecklenburg County Teen Court (MCTC) student volunteers graduating high school who have volunteered for a minimum of six (6) sessions and are currently active (March 2023 – March 5, 2024), regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age or disability status.

Selection of Recipients:

Applicants are expected to complete the application and meet all requirements set forth in the application.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by phone call or e-mail.

Submission Requirements:

1.Provide one signed letter of recommendation that testifies to your character and commitment to the community. The letter should be written by an individual familiar with your contributions to the community – such as a coach, employer, pastor but not a family member or an Assistance League volunteer or employee. Recommenders to submit by email to Recognition Committee.

2. Provide a copy of a letter of acceptance from any accredited trade school, college or university. If you have not yet been accepted, please provide communication from the institution(s) indicating application acknowledgement or reasonable facsimile.

3. Write an essay, typewritten and double spaced, with specific examples of how the Teen Court experience has impacted you and your interactions with others.

4. Please submit your completed application online with the photo, essay and letter of acceptance (or reasonable facsimile) attached. Your reference letter should be-emailed to Recognition Committee.
