  • Program began in 1991

Definition and Process

  • Teddy bears named “Buddy Bear” are provided to children in traumatic situations
  • Buddy Bears are supplied to two local hospitals, Colorado Health at Memorial and Memorial North
  • Bears are provided year-round

Additional Details

  • Each month, 75 bears are delivered to each of the hospitals
  • The criteria for giving the bears is determined by the hospital nurses and doctors
  • In 2015, 1,000 bears were donated
