How We Raise Funds for Our Philanthropic Programs

The philanthropic programs of the Assistance League of Las Vegas are funded through several fundraising efforts. All monies donated to the chapter’s fundraising activities are used for its philanthropic expenses. Money to finance the non-philanthropic expenses incurred for member activities is derived from dues and members-only functions. Because Assistance League of Las Vegas is an all-volunteer organization, with minimal administrative costs and the revenue from our Thrift Shop, you can be assured that your contribution – whether it be in dollars or minutes – will go directly to someone in your own community who needs and deserves it.

Thrift Shop

The Assistance League of Las Vegas Thrift Shop is staffed and managed entirely by our member volunteers.

We gladly accept gently used clothing, household items and furniture. Please take a look at our “Top Drawer” section featuring many designer labels.

Our Thrift Shop is open TuesdaySaturday, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m

Our drop-off location is at the West end of our building in the back. Please ring the bell for help unloading your donation.

Individual Donations

Every year we are so thankful for the many people that see our programs as worthwhile and give anywhere between $10 and $10,000.

With no paid staff, and our Thrift Shop to support our building maintenance and operational expenses, be assured that 100% of your donation is providing goods and services for children and adults in need.

You may specify a program for 100% of your donation like Operation School Bell, AL’s Closet, bears, etc. Your donation can be in honor or memory of someone. In addition to a thank you letter sent to the donor, we will send a letter to the honoree informing of a donation made in their name.

Employee Giving/Employer Matching

Many companies offer employee charitable giving plans to nonprofits through payroll deduction. Employee giving plans are usually offered through the human resources department and will allow the employee to select the amount to give. Contact us to work with your employer to set up a donation plan.

Many companies offer matching gift programs that are designed to be the means by which companies support employee charitable giving. Companies match donations made by employees to a wide range of nonprofits. Please contact us if your employer offers matching funds.

 Corporate Giving

We have been the recipient of donations from many corporations. Many of these companies also bring volunteers to Operation School Bell® to help the students choose their new clothing.

 Philanthropic Endowment

A Philanthropic Endowment Fund has been established to ensure the continued success of our charitable programs.

 Grants

Our Fund Development Committee writes grant proposals to Corporations and Foundations to support Assistance League of Las Vegas’s philanthropic programs.

Shop For a Cause

Shop For a Cause is a simple and automatic way for you to support Assistance League of Las Vegas every time you shop with a company listed, at no cost to you. For every eligible purchase you make, a portion of the purchase price will be donated to Assistance League of Las Vegas.

ALLV Golf Tournament

Our annual golf tournament and silent auction supports our largest philanthropic program Operation School Bell®. Assistance League members, community sponsors, and donors come together to enjoy a fun-filled day to make a difference in the life of a child.
