Allies deliver 200 toiletry kits to Project Reach

On March 11th an enthusiastic group of Assistance League® Minneapolis/St. Paul Allies and guests packed 200 toiletry kits for homeless students in St. Paul Public Schools. Kits included socks, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm, a comb, and other personal hygiene products. When St. Paul Public Schools closed a few days later, the concern became how to get the kits to the students. Our Project Reach contact, Anne McInerney, agreed to meet in a parking lot to make the ‘non-contact’ transfer. She got the kits to the distribution site before more restrictions were put in place. Mission accomplished! Anne later wrote on behalf of Project Reach, “I went straight from meeting you to the Family Service Center, Sade House for Youth, and Interfaith Action Day Center. They are all so grateful for your donations! Your assistance will make a huge difference in the lives of our families and youth experiencing homelessness. THANK YOU!”

Thank you Allies for identifying a need in the community and working hard to meet it.
