We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Leslie Hitchens as a new member to our Advisory Council.

Dr. Leslie Hitchens is a Native of New Orleans. She attended the Xavier University of Louisiana, where she received her Bachelor’s in Special Education, Early Childhood, and Elementary Education. She moved to the Twin Cities and attended the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Hitchens has been in the field of education for over twenty years. She was an assistant director of Special Education in St. Paul and worked with multiple staff, families, and students on a regular basis to support specialized programming for students with disabilities. Education has always been a focus, passion, and priority with her. Presently she is the principal of Maxfield Elementary in the St. Paul Promise Neighborhood. Maxfield sits in the heart of the Rondo neighborhood. As an instructional leader she is committed to the families in her school community.
