Operation School Bell®
Student Recognition

The goal of Operation School Bell Academic All Stars is to encourage students in grades K-5 to continue on a path to educational success. The program recognizes students for achievements in areas such as academics, behavior, and attendance as determined by school staff. It’s widely known that children are more likely to repeat behaviors that earn positive reinforcement.

Families are invited to celebrate with the students at awards ceremonies. A principal observed, “Parents attend ceremonies and the pride is evident in both the parent and the child. All Star students set an example for other students and strive to continue their positive achievements.”

In 2020-21, despite the pandemic, three celebratory events were held. Over 400 students in Minneapolis and St. Paul were awarded special shirts, wristbands, and framed photos for achieving their goals.

I like that I am going to have a picture of my son being his best.

Families were very proud of their child being recognized and shared that they loved the ceremony. They felt it was validation of the work their child has been doing.
