Members develop skills, enjoy new friendships, and feel a sense of accomplishment as they work to serve others in our community. Members can choose to participate in a variety of program options, allowing them to share their unique talents and interests to empower the people they serve. The chapter business is conducted at monthly membership meetings which also serve as a great opportunity to meet people.
“You can’t sit home and do nothing” said my sister, a member of the Omaha chapter of Assistance League. “I’ve done the research and there is a chapter not far from you. Look into it!” So I did! I went to a prospective coffee and joined Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul on the spot! Everyone is inviting, and the programs are so worthwhile. The kids in Operation School Bell® are so appreciative and thankful for their new clothes. Some even remember you from year to year. One little boy , as the class was leaving, waved across the room to me saying, “Thank You, Miss Sandy!” This appreciation makes it all worthwhile.The wonderful women and programs in this organization are superb and make you want to keep going!
