Our Coats for Kids Program!

When temperatures drop, thousands of Oklahoma City Public Schools students will not have a coat to keep them warm. It’s a shocking statistic but is a reality for these children. Another fact: Oklahoma City Public Schools is the state’s largest school district with 46,000 students and 90 percent living at or below the poverty line.

Oklahoma City Public Schools rely on the support of community partners willing to step up and step in to provide assistance. Assistance League Oklahoma City is working with the Oklahoma City Public Schools to support the students in providing a warm winter coat.

Our Walk-Up Library Program!

There are currently 16 Walkup Library Kiosks on Oklahoma City Public Schools grounds. There are several objectives for the Walkup Library Kiosks; one is the providing of continuing reading opportunities to the children living in the Oklahoma City Public School area, and two, a child can get a book, take it home and read it, then bring the book back and get another book. The sponsor(s) of the kiosks will be providing books to go in the sponsored kiosk as well.
