Making an Impact in Our Community

Dear Friend of Assistance League Rancho San Dieguito,

As your local all volunteer non-profit, our mission is to support literacy, education and victims of abuse or neglect in our own community. Our philanthropic programs are managed by volunteer members who give their time to prepare preschoolers for kindergarten, mentor scholarship recipients in their journey through higher education, knit and deliver items for newborns at Balboa Hospital,  collect and deliver needed furnishings for families transitioning from homelessness, arrange and deliver bouquets of flowers to seniors in assisted living, and much more.

Through our partnership with One Safe Place, we provide Assault Survivor Kits for victims of abuse, fund Thrive for children recovering from trauma, and support a General Assistance Program to meet emergency needs. Our fundraising efforts allow us to provide new school clothes for local underserved youth; provide sweatshirts to children of enlisted Marines at Camp Pendleton; purchase new books for participants in Head Start, Boys and Girls Clubs and YMCA; provide scholarships to graduates of San Dieguito High School District; and contribute to  holiday meals at our Encinitas Senior Center.

We do all of this and more while working in our thrift shop, where 60% of our income is earned. Our members, friends and supporters have generously provided the balance of the money needed to continue these programs through various fundraising efforts. As the end of the year approaches, please remember giving to ALRSD allows you to have an impact in your local community.
