Members of Assistance League recently received a welcome surprise donation Verizon Wireless Solutions Manager, Laura Sowa, arrived at the thrift shop with a donation of backpacks and school supplies that were donated by the employees of the Murrieta, Temecula and Menifee Verizon Wireless corporate stores. More than twenty backpacks and school supplies including notebooks crayons, pencils, rulers, erasers, glue sticks and many other items made for a very impressive and useful donation. The backpacks will be filled with the school supplies and given to a local school district for distribution to disadvantaged students.
“I don’t know what I would have done without this thrift shop,” said Laura, whose two children are now adults. “When I was a young mom and my husband was in the Marine Corp, this is where I always went shopping for my kid’s clothes. I would not have made it without being able to shop here.”
Thank you to all of the Verizon Wireless employees, to Laura and Adrienne Talkington for collecting and delivering this special donation.
