Merrilee is the “mama” bear for Temecula Valley Hospital ER. Recently, she made her delivery of bears. The supply was low since deliveries could not be made during the pandemic. Everyone was excited to see the cuddly bears back to do their job of comforting children. Children in the ER that are sick or afraid love the nurses and ER doctors that bring them a bear to hug. Each of the six Assistance League “mama” bears make deliveries each month to the area ERs as well as to the Temecula Valley Pediatric Outpatient Surgery Unit and Trauma Intervention Program (TIP).
