Operation School Bell is in the process of providing new clothes for identified low-income students (TK-12). Each student shops for clothing at a tax free value of $125. At the September 1st ‘shopping event’ at Kohl’s in Murrieta, Assistance League earned $3,700 in Kohl’s Cash. Using the Kohl’s Cash, Assistance League immediately went shopping to fill requests by local agencies.
• Birth Choice of Temecula requested sleepers and PJs for sizes 12 months to 2T. With the help of Kohl’s associate Rita, Cathy, Operation Nonprofit Partnerships Chairman, shopped for 111 pieces of clothing.
• The Menifee Union School District’s Family Engagement Center requested underwear, socks, leggings, shorts, shirts, and hoodies. Jennifer, Kohl’s Associate, and Annette, Philanthropic Programs Chairman, shopped for 275 clothing items for the Center. Claudia, at the Family Engagement Center, accepted the donations.
• In addition, 151 clothing items requested by the Health Tech at E. Hale Curran Elementaty School, MUSD, for emergency dressings were purchased.
Funds were also given to our Assisteens auxiliary (grades 7-12) to apply to their program serving the Romoland School District.
Thank you to all our donors and shoppers for your continuous support. Your support allows Assistance League to fulfill its mission of “volunteers transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs.”
