Over two-thirds of our annual revenue comes from fundraising events. Traditionally Assistance League Sierra Foothills holds two signature fundraisers annually—the Gardens of the Hills tour and the Homes for the Holidays tour. In 2020 we have had to move away from these two signature events due to the COVID-19 virus.
Our membership, not to be discouraged by the cancellation of these events, has come together to create two new events to both raise funds and entertain the community while following local directives of mask wearing and social distancing.
Fall and Holiday Wreaths Sale became the first new fundraising event. Members created unique fall and holiday wreaths for sale and promoted their sale on social media as well as at the Fall/Holiday Boutique. Undoubtedly, you will find a wreath to brighten your home, inside or out, at the sale.
The Fall/Holiday Boutique provides community members a shopping experience featuring a variety of new and gently-used holiday décor and home décor. A traditional highlight of the Homes for the Holidays tour—custom decorated Christmas trees—will be carried over to this event. The raffle has been transformed into luxurious theme baskets for sale at unbelievably reasonable prices. There will be some more of the wreaths created by members, an abundance of Christmas decorations and gift items. You will also find home décor items from a chandelier to original artwork to china and glassware . It will be the perfect way to get in the spirit for the holiday season and get in some early gift shopping.
We do not know what 2021 will bring, but we do hope to bring back the Gardens of the Hills tour and the Homes for the Holidays tour for the enjoyment of all.
