Assistance League Makes Face Masks for Community

Masks made for the Coronavirus pandemic

Driven by our strong belief that everyone in the Whatcom community should lead a healthy and secure life, the members of Assistance League of Bellingham have joined the Whatcom County effort to make face masks to help protect medical and social workers.

We have pulled together all the supplies we can find from our Thrift & Gift Shop, our local retail stores, and from donations by our members to begin production of these much sought after face masks. On March 27th we started making deliveries to local care centers.   We are working closely with the Whatcom Unified Command to get these masks into the hands of the staff working with residents of the care centers.

The photos below depict a member volunteer of Assistance League’s family working hard to make masks for our front line senior care center employees and nurses. Material and elastic were donated, masks made and then sanitized in an ozone machine.  So far, over 100 and counting they report!  #stayhealthy #COVID19
