Ada Edwards Laughlin National Award Recipient – Kathy Sabel

Kay McDade and Sandy Dentinger present Kathy sabel with Ada Edwards Laughlin Award

The Ada Edwards Laughlin Award is named after the cofounder of Assistance League. It honors and recognizes an outstanding chapter member who has contributed significantly while remaining behind the scenes.

Assistance League members Kay McDade and Sandy Dentinger presented this award to Kathy Sabel at our last Assistance League general meeting.

In presenting the award, Kay said the following about Kathy.  I’ve had the great pleasure of working with our award winner on several different committees over the past few years:

  • She is a pleasure to work with, always cheerful and upbeat, and quick to offer help and support when needed. She is super reliable.
  • She listens well, considers ideas and options offered by others, and is collaborative by nature.
  • She is not afraid to take on leadership positions….having enough confidence in herself and other Assistance League of Bellingham members that we can work out any problems or difficulties that might come along.
  • She has amazing computer skills which is why I refer to her as “Queen of the Spreadsheets”.

By now, she probably knows this award is going to her. So I am happy to tell the rest of you that the Ada Edwards Laughlin Award….the award that goes to a member who has done a lot of work for ALB behind the scenes…….goes to Kathy Sabel.
