In presenting this award, Assistance League member, Nanci Zander commented, “The second person we are honoring today with the Anne Banning Award joined Assistance League in 2012 and many times she has stepped up to take an unfilled position.

Here are some of her qualifications: serving on the board at least four times and holding many positions of chair in our philanthropies, newsletter editor and new member recruitment chair. She recently stepped up to reorganize the Eating Healthy Program when it was failing and stagnant.

She has worked in linens for many years.

Most importantly, and a little known fact, is that this member helped to create a new chapter program. In 2013, when we decided to move our shop to its present location, we gave up clothing Operation School Bell students in the shop and adopted a new program with Target. After joining in 2012, she was asked the following year to help research and implement the new OSB program to partner with Target. Along with Janice Benson and Linda Stevens, she spent an entire summer developing the intricate details of that very successful program. It was the model we used until Covid.

In case you have guessed who this person might be, Kay McDade, will you come forward to receive your award.”
