At our last Assistance League of Bellingham meeting, our President, Shelley Fishwild, shared the following in presenting the 2025 President’s Award.
“I am honoring Sarah Spinks because she is outstanding in so many ways. She is tenacious, persistent and loves doing research, especially with our Bylaws.
She helped me learn the ins and outs of technology as well as training our members in Google Works. She patiently works with committee chairs, board members and all members of ALB to find what we need in our online system.
As Parliamentarian, she keeps me and the board on track with Roberts Rules of Order and Motion protocol to keep the meeting running smoothly. She also records the meetings to make it easier to write the minutes.
As Office Manager, she orders and maintain supplies as well as acquiring new computers and printers.
Sarah also assists with Wall Art, sorting and pricing. She checks the donated sewing machines so they are ready to put out in the shop for sale.
She has helped me with ABC New Member training by showing videos that she recorded about the History of ALB, Where Does the Money Go, Understanding Bylaws, What is our Strategic Plan and Explaining our Budget.
Now we are going to fulfill her dream of making our Thrift Shop more environmentally friendly by enrolling in a Ridwell pickup for recycling batteries, plastic bags and styrofoam twice a month.
Sarah, thank you so much for making our Assistance League organization such a giving, caring and knowledgeable chapter!”
