Assistance League of Bellingham’s Care Center Support program recently gave six care centers in Bellingham and Whatcom County $800 each so that they could select Springtime gifts for their residents. Activity directors selected items that ALB ordered online.
Avalon’s Recreation Director, Kara Mangum, was thrilled to receive all the wonderful gifts. She commented, “ALB really gave such a lovely springtime blessing us here at Avalon Bellingham. Our residents are already enjoying the variety of gifts they so generously procured for us.
We have three amazing new puzzle boards for our public spaces to keep puzzles organized and allow for us to leave and come back to big projects. We have an amazing new raised garden bed so that our garden here at Avalon can keep growing in size and accessibility, as well as gloves and watering cans so more and more residents can get in on the fun. We’re going to plant native wildflowers in the raised bed!
We got a huge infusion of craft supplies, giving us a variety of projects to work on and new crafting skills to hone as a facility. We got some wonderful wireless headphones, so multi-use spaces can house an even greater number of residents and activities.
Between the variety of our gifts, and the thoughtful care and consideration ALB showed in selecting them, it’s shaping up to be an incredible spring here at Avalon Bellingham and we can’t thank ALB enough for their outpouring of generosity on our building! “
