On Saturday, August 23, Bellingham Public Schools hosted the annual BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAMILY BLOCK PARTY, a resource fair for all district families.
School and community partnered tables provided important resources for starting the school year. The community event included signups for Operation School Bell, a program of Assistance League of Bellingham that provides new school clothes for eligible families.
We had a great turnout and lots of Assistance League member volunteers helped sign up families up for the School Bell Lottery. This was for the Operation School Bell program where Bellingham school districts have a drawing for the $125 gift cards available for 803 students to shop at Bellis Fair JC Penney.
The block party was a big success with many local community tables set up to show what is available to the youth in Whatcom County.
