Operation Hug

Since 1989, Operation Hug has provided soft, cuddly teddy bears distributed by hospital emergency rooms and other crisis centers to children suffering sexual abuse, serious illness, or accident trauma. Some 2,419 teddy bears were given out last year.

During October 2023, we delivered 228 teddy bears to three agencies: Little Company of Mary San Pedro Hospital, Torrance Memorial Emergency Room, and UCLA Medical Center Kids Clinic. In November, we delivered 144 teddy bears to Torrance Memorial Emergency Room and Kaiser Permanente.

A teddy bear comforts a child in distress. $100 provides teddy bears for 18 children at local trauma centers.
