Assisteens

Assisteens is an auxiliary for girls and boys in grades 7 through 12.

Following the concept of “All for service and service for all,” the Assisteens participate in a variety of valuable philanthropic works in the community and, in addition, support the philanthropic programs of the main chapter.

Members of Assisteens contribute a minimum of fifty (50) hours of volunteer service per year. These hours are earned doing:

Auxiliary Service (20 hours) which includes any activity or service associated with the chapter and/or auxiliary. For example, each member attends monthly meetings and works in the Chapter Gift Shop and Operation School Bell® at least once during the year.

Community Service (10 hours) which includes approved volunteer activities performed, outside of Assistance League, for the benefit of the surrounding community.

On-going Service (20 hours) which are earned at an approved volunteer site in the community. These hours are earned on a regular basis throughout the year. There are many options available.

Many Assisteens exceed the number of volunteer hours each year. Those with 125 hours or more are awarded the prestigious Angel Award during the annual Installation Luncheon.

Each Fall Senior Assisteens host a Fashion Show as a fundraising event. In the spring, they are recognized by family and friends for their generous community service at the Senior Recognition Event.

All members of Assisteens share fun together attending the dinner/meetings in September and February, the Holiday Party, the Father/Assisteen Event, the Installation Luncheon, the annual Senior Fashion Show, the Senior Recognition Event, the Get Acquainted Tea, and other Assisteens’ events.

There are leadership opportunities for those who pursue various officer positions each year. As well, there are a number of committees for which Assisteens can volunteer to expand their participation and leadership skills.

Each member pays annual dues and also participates in fundraising as selected by the membership each year.
