STARS OF SERVICE · AMERICA’S 250TH ANNIVERSARY
For 250 years, Americans have shown up for each other.
Help us dress America’s children for the next 250.
Operation School Bell® is Assistance League’s signature program. Chapters research specific needs in their local communities; then develop, fund and implement programs that support children in need. The goal is to help children succeed in school by providing new school clothing; health assistance, including hearing, vision and/or dental care; and literacy, cultural and higher educational enrichment.
Your gift puts clothes, shoes, and supplies on a child who needs them. Today. Through Operation School Bell, the signature program of Assistance League.
Dress America’s Next 250
The smallest line item on a child’s back-to-school list is also the most often missing. Your $2.50 puts a fresh pair of socks on the feet of a kid heading to class on a cold morning. Symbolic of the year. Real for the child.
For many students, new shoes are the difference between participating in gym class and sitting on the sidelines. Your $25 buys a pair of brand-new sneakers for a child going to school.
Your $250 completely clothes a brother and a sister for the entire school year. Shoes, outfits, undergarments, jackets, supplies. Everything they need to walk into class confident.
Your $2,500 supports a full classroom of students with clothing, shoes, books, and school supplies for the year. One school. One grade. Measurable lifts in attendance, attention, and confidence.

2026 is the year America asks who we are.
The country turns 250. Cities will hold parades. Museums will mount exhibitions. Schools will assign essays about what America means. We will be doing something simpler, and we believe more lasting.
We will be dressing the children who will be America’s adults at our 300th anniversary.
The students we clothe in 2026 will be in their seventies when the United States turns 300. Some of them will be teachers, soldiers, scientists, doctors, parents, mayors, presidents.
Your gift makes that possible.
Where your money goes.
Your gift arrives.
Your donation comes to National Assistance League, the parent organization of local chapters across the country.
It goes where the need is.
We allocate gifts to the chapters serving communities with the highest demand for Operation School Bell.
A child gets clothed.
A chapter volunteer takes a child shopping. The child picks their own new clothes.
One last thing.
A child who gets new clothes for school does not just dress differently. They walk differently.
They show up.
