About Us

A little about us! The Assistance League of Capistrano Valley is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been serving the community for over 40 years. Member volunteers are dedicated to ongoing support and a long-term presence in the community through hands-on involvement and innovative philanthropic programs.

Founded in 1977, our member volunteers support children in the Capistrano Unified School District in south Orange County. In a joint program with other local Assistance League chapters, we also support families serving at Camp Pendleton Marine Base.  Our organization provides many volunteer opportunities to serve the communities of Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.

Members manage and staff the Bargain Box Thrift Store in San Clemente, which is our primary source of revenue. Our philanthropic programs include back to school clothing for Capistrano Valley students, grants to middle school educators and two scholarship programs.  Our Assisteens® auxiliary help support our efforts in the community.
