Assistance League of Chaves County is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers who bring their talents and abilities together to fulfill the mission of providing assistance to those in need in the Chaves County community.

Assistance League is 100% staffed and run by volunteers. This lets us concentrate our funds and our efforts on the programs that matter most to the community.

Member volunteers are our lifeblood. Our volunteers come to us from all ages and backgrounds, bringing a diverse set of talents and interests.

Membership is open to all individuals who have the time and passion to volunteer. and who believe, as we do, that a giving heart and simple compassionate acts can make a world of difference in the lives of children and adults

Our programs are tailored to the needs of our community and provide the perfect venue to serve those around us.

Membership Levels and Requirements

VOTING:
  • Attend regular chapter meetings held one Friday morning monthly
  • Work at least one (1) shift per month at the Thrift Shop
  • Participate in and support the philanthropic programs and
    fundraising activities of the chapter
  • Pay annual dues of $55
  • Serve on committees of your choice
  • Have the right to vote and hold office
LAS LIANAS COMMITTEE VOTING:
  • Attend Las Lianas Committee meetings held one Monday evening monthly
  • Be welcome to attend and vote at regular meetings
  • Work one (1) shift per month at the Thrift Shop
  • Pay annual dues of $55
  • Conduct the Silver Belle program in coordination with the Philanthropic Chair
  • Conduct any approved fundraiser in conjunction with the Resource Development Chair
NONVOTING:
  • May participate in and support the philanthropic programs and
    fundraising activities of the chapter
  • Pay annual dues of $75
  • May attend regular meetings and serve on committees
  • May serve as an appointive chair

WOW AWARDS

WOW awards are presented a couple of times a year to members who make an outstanding difference in serving our chapter’s mission. The first WOW award was presented in 2001. It stands for Wonderfully Oriented Woman and each recipient is honored with a rotated pin depicting volunteers working together in service of the community.
