Today, our Assisteens volunteers helped load an 18-wheeler full of clothes and shoes destined for Soles4Souls, a global nonprofit committed to empowering women and communities in developing countries through sustainable donation efforts. Why Soles4Souls Matters

• Turning donations into opportunities: Soles4Souls collects new and gently used shoes and clothing, which are then redistributed across the U.S. and around the world. Through their flagship programs, they provide relief, create jobs, support children in need, and protect the environment.

• Empowering women entrepreneurs: Their 4Opportunity program helps women in low-income countries launch and run small businesses, selling donated items at affordable prices in their communities. Approximately 98% of participants are female, and many experience significant income gains.

• Environmental stewardship: Soles4Souls’ 4ThePlanet initiative fights clothing and shoe waste by repurposing items and diverting them from landfills. In 2023 alone, they diverted millions of pounds of materials

• Impressive scale of impact: Since its founding in 2006, Soles4Souls has distributed over 94 million pairs of shoes and items of clothing in nearly 140 countries, generating hundreds of millions in economic impact for the communities it serves.
