DONOR PRIVACY POLICY
Accepted March 26, 2006
Updated May 2024

Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to safeguarding the personal information of our donors and customers. We do not sell, share, or disclose personal information to third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Personal information may be disclosed under the following circumstances:

  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or legal processes, we may disclose personal information.
  • Grant Applications: If personal information is needed for grant applications, it will be disclosed only to the extent necessary.
  • Payment Processing: To facilitate bank, credit, or debit card transactions, personal information may be shared with financial institutions.

Assistance League of Georgetown Area values the support of our donors and may publicly acknowledge your contributions in numerous ways. This can include recognition in internal or community publications, on our website, through social media, or other means of expressing our gratitude.

If you prefer to remain anonymous, we will honor your request. Please inform us at the time of your donation or contact us at the address below or by email at ContactUs@algeorgetownarea.org to ensure your preferences are respected. This would include cash or in-kind donations of goods or services.

A donor’s photograph will not be used at any time or in any publications without the donor’s consent. However, agreeing to appear in a photograph shall imply consent. This implied consent shall apply to the name and likeness of the donor published in the written or digital form described above. It is not necessary to obtain written or oral consent from other individuals photographed in large crowds and/or groups if the photograph is taken at any event sponsored by Assistance League of Georgetown Area. In the case of a minor, written permission will be obtained from the parent/guardian.

All donations shall be treated individually so that multiple donations from a single donor shall receive the same consideration as if each were the first donation received.

We may use your personal information to communicate with you about our needs that may interest you.

Donations received by a chapter member will be afforded the same considerations as stated in this policy. Each chapter member will receive a copy of this policy annually.
