On Saturday, February 29, Assistance League of Newport-Mesa volunteers met in the banquet room to work on Assistance League ACTION!  Week projects. Our Operation School Bell team determined the needs of the NMUSD school district with input from the school community facilitators.

Project number one: Health Office Emergency Bags – clothes for students in need of a change of clothing while at school. Donated clothing for 6 local elementary school health offices.

Project number two: Supplies provided for 6th Grade Science Camp for 5 local schools- toiletry kits for 165 students (washcloth, body wash, chapstick, wet wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss) an assortment of sleeping bags, jackets, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, and other cold-weather gear.

Project number three: Sorted and packed by size donated tee-shirts and toiletry bags for 60 students heading to science camp at Newport Dunes.
