In an exciting effort to expand upon our partnership with and commitment to the Newport Mesa Unified School District, members of our newly formed Links to Learning Committee worked with the Newport Mesa Unified School District Foundation to review applications for special grants for teachers. The committee made up of members Cherie Copin, Laurie Horn, Judy Weightman, Debbie Dajee, Susan Brown, and Marie Pierotti selected 6 grant recipients. Our Chapter awarded a total of $5,000 to Links to Learning teacher grants.
Marie Pierotti and Susan Brown represented the Assistance League of Newport-Mesa at the Newport Mesa Unified School District Foundation dinner. They were on stage with MC Scott Paulsen when the grants were announced and each recipient received a certificate and a check. The Assistance League received a certificate and an apple statue.
