Assisteens and adult chapter members from Assistance League of Newport-Mesa had a very productive morning in the Second Harvest Food Bank fields, helping harvest 3,500 lbs. of broccoli and weeding the lettuce/cabbage fields. The group learned the ins and outs of the hard work that goes into getting our produce from farm to table. All of the harvested food will go to members of our community facing food insecurity.
