On Monday, May 19, the Assistance League of Newport-Mesa participated in Respectability Month at El Morro Elementary. The puppets entertained 15 classrooms and talked about people with differences and how to be kind and inclusive.

Member Cherie Copin brightens lives weekly as a reading tutor at the Aliso Viejo Boys and Girls Club.  When hearing about her amazing work and need for supplies, the book Brigade happily provided boos to the programs.  In addition to a refreshed tutoring library, children were gifted books to enjoy at home.  Thanks Cherie!

  A love of learning was in the air earlier this month at Pomona Elementary.   Members delivered books, played Valentine bingo, and did candy heart math graphs with the 3rd grade students.

Marie Pierotti and Debbie Dajee, two members who regularly read and assist at Newport Unified School District’s Pomona Elementary School, teamed up with Book Brigade last week.   In addition to bringing their love of learning to the children, they also provided the 4th grade students with books and sweet treats!
