Cultural Programs

Taking care and giving back. The power of a generous heart.

Assistance League charitable programs rely on hands-on involvement by our volunteers and spring from their generous hearts and minds. Each innovative program is designed to meet specific needs of individual communities. Assistance League member volunteers have achieved true transformation in their communities and have helped make a better world possible.

Cultural programs provide a window on the world

Enrichment activities and experiences are essential to the development of well-rounded children. Art discovery lessons and youth exhibits, live theater, symphony performances, museum visits and scholarships for science camps are sponsored by various chapters to introduce fine arts to local school kids. Kids on the Block puppetry programs explore issues of disability, cultural differences, healthy eating and exercise, social problems and acceptance of self and others. As a gesture of kindness and camaraderie, Assistance League members befriend senior adults in assisted living facilities. They host parties and special activities and provide small gifts that bring cheer and encouragement to the older generation.
