Assistance League Chaves County recently hosted three New Mexico State Police Officers as guest speakers who increased our awareness of the problem of human trafficking in New Mexico and in Roswell. Discussion included ways individuals can spot warning signs of labor and sex trafficking and seek help for victims by contacting the NMSP and other agencies, such as Human Trafficking Hotline at 505-GET-FREE, or 1-888-373-7888. “See something, say something” is encouraged. Learning this information is helpful to our focus on meeting needs of children and adults in our community. The presentation occurred at the Assistance League chapter house located at 2601 N. Aspen in Roswell during Friday’s regular monthly meeting.
