One of the Valley’s most generous entrepreneurs, Michael Pollack is at it again making dreams come true and a difference in the community, one shopping center at a time.

The owner of Pollack Investments has generously donated more than $200,000 in cash and in-kind donations to Assistance League East Valley, but come October 21st nothing will compare to Pollack’s latest gift to the charity.

Pollack will unveil a spectacular newly renovated 8,256 square foot stand-alone building at 2326 N. Alma School Rd. in Chandler that will serve as the charity’s new thrift store location.

**As part of the celebration Pollack, along with the Chandler Fire Department and hundreds of volunteers will Stuff the Bus in front of the new thrift store from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21ST.  Pollack is asking the community to donate new sweatshirts, socks and tennis shoes.  The items will clothe needy kids in the East Valley. As part of the celebration two children’s choirs, the San Marcos Spanish Coro and the Boulder Creek Elementary Bell Choir will perform. Enjoy music, prizes, food provided by Raising Cane’s and drink until 1:00pm.**

“The Assistance League East Valley serves literally thousands of families here in the East Valley every year. The services they provide through having a thrift store are crucial to our community,” said Michael Pollack.  “So there was no question what we needed to do.  We knew we had to give them not only a bigger and brighter space, but give them a location that is centrally located in Chandler.”

Pollack purchased the building last year, which was formerly occupied by Oasis Bedroom. The new space, which is located in Chandler along the west side of Alma School Road north of Warner Road, will house an updated newly located thrift store for the Assistance League East Valley. The thrift store has operated for 14 years but was in need of modernization and expansion in order to meet the demands of the thousands of people it serves.

As part of his continuing support of the Assistance League East Valley, Pollack donated resources necessary to make the essential renovations to the new site possible.  The Valley Entrepreneur has also agreed to rent the space to the charity for the next five years at a reduced rate.

Pollack, who has been a longtime supporter of the Assistance League East Valley, was also the group’s first landlord. The group says for years the generous shopping center owner leased them space far below the market value while also remaining a generous sponsor for their events.

“When it became apparent it was time to find a more visible and larger thrift shop location, I immediately thought of Michael Pollack who offered three options that had great visibility, increased square footage, and had the best cost per square foot,” said Susan Harrison, president of the Assistance League East Valley. “Mr. Pollack gives and just keeps giving. He has been so generous with his support over the years, giving us financial assistance beyond our imagination.  Without him, we would not have been able to even consider this move.”
