Assistance League of Kansas City, installed their 2016-2017 board of directors at the May 11, 2016 chapter meeting.  This year the nonprofit, organization will celebrate their 30th Anniversary as a chapter of Assistance League.  The 320+ member volunteers develop, manage and operate various philanthropic programs to help meet the unfulfilled needs of children and adults in the Kansas City area.  These programs are funded primarily through proceeds of the all volunteer run thrift store, THE ReSALE SHOP, which is located at 6601 N. Oak Trafficway in Gladstone.  These programs which assist local individuals, include Operation School Bell®, Operation Child in Need, I’m In Charge, Assault Survivor Kits®, Operation Celebration, Operation Hug and Senior Outreach Services. Grants and monetary donations also help fund these programs.  To learn more about Assistance League of Kansas City, go to the website, www.alkc.org or follow on Facebook.
