July 27 was a hot day in Pasadena, CA when 54 members of 15 chapters (Arcadia, Bakersfield, Conejo Valley, Downey, Flintridge, Glendale, Long Beach, Palm Springs-Desert Area, Pasadena, Pomona Valley, Riverside, San Fernando Valley, San Pedro/South Bay, Santa Clarita, Santa Monica, and the Foothill Communities) gathered for lunch and brainstorming session on  membership recruitment, orientation, retention and thrift shop scheduling.  Co-chaired by Irene Miller, President of the Pasadena chapter and Anne Salenger, President of Santa Monica chapter, participants enjoyed lunch followed by discussion of best practices and issues.  Phyllis Campbell, National Vice President Fund Development, joined the networking and offered the national point of view.  The room was buzzing with conversation, laughter and pride in our Assistance League.
