The Assistance League of Redlands held its 10th annual “It’s All About Tea” tea party fundraiser Oct. 29 at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Redlands.

Assistance League members and friends decorated tables using themes including celebrations, song titles and Victorian. Among the favorites were Lynn Reiter’s “Walk on the Wild Side,” Rocky Pollitz’s “Galaxy” and Japanese- and garden-themed tables decorated by Verlyn Morgan and Paulette Surdzial.

Wendy McKinney of Trinity Evangelical Free Church’s Women’s Ministries welcomed guests and gave the invocation.

The afternoon tea menu featured scones, lemon curd, clotted cream, quiche, finger sandwiches and desserts.

During the tea, Dress Barn presented a casual fashion show with Shirley Bellue, Gloria Moreland and Tanya Van Helden modeling the fashions.

Opportunity drawing winners included Marie Turner, a Nordstrom gift certificate; Connie Jury, a Macy’s gift certificate; Pat Drake, gift cards for local restaurants; Susan Broderick, a golf package at Redlands Country Club including tee time for four, golf carts, lesson and lunch; and Darlene Gallion, Disneyland tickets for four.

Prerna Kapadia won two tickets to the Camellia Luncheon, an Assistance League fundraiser. This year’s luncheon will be held Feb. 22.

Michael Mortenson served as master of ceremonies.

Proceeds support the philanthropies sponsored by Assistance League including a dental clinic and Operation School Bell, which provides school clothing for children in need. The recently completed fall session of Operation School Bell provided clothing for almost 600 elementary school children.

Leslie Blanscett, chairman of the tea, said she appreciated the support of Assistance League members and thanked those who attended the tea. She also recognized Assistance League members Mary Duke Ramsey and Shirley Arledge, who founded the tea.
