Diablo Valley – Welcomes AAA as New Corporate Partner

Since 1994 Assistance League’s nationally acclaimed philanthropic program, Operation School Bell® has provided clothing to schoolchildren, which has resulted in improved attendance, campus citizenship and academic performance. Expanding its reach, the hands-on philanthropic program served more than 6,000 students in grades K-12 in 2018-2019.

In 2006, Assistance League of Diablo Valley launched a Corporate Partners effort, where employee volunteers from local corporations and businesses became directly involved with several of its philanthropic programs.

On November 5, employee volunteers from AAA reported to Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s Annex to bag clothing for 200 schoolchildren. Corporate Partners Co-Chair Pam Pitts prefaced the event with an update regarding the chapter’s other nine hands-on philanthropic programs’ purpose and impact.

In a mere two hours, all involved had placed six pairs of socks, six pairs of underwear, a sweatshirt, two pairs of pants, or shorts, for the boys or one pair of pants and one skort (upon request) for the girls, and three white collared shirts into large, reusable bags.  As a result, AAA joined Assistance League of Diablo Valley in improving lives in our community by putting “Caring and Commitment into Action.” These bags will be delivered to Ygnacio Valley Elementary School in Concord (GO, EAGLES!) for distribution to eager and appreciative students.
