December 2016

December is always busy for our chapter,  especially during our December Regular meeting.  This year wasn’t any different – it always seems to have the hustle and bustle as any holiday time! Our chapter traditionally has a silent auction with items donated by our members, plus this year we were entertained by our own creative and lively entertainment group singing some meaningful words using the tune of Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer (words below).  Background Christmas music could be heard throughout our holiday meeting, which was played by our own talented member on her keyboard.  Additionally, our member computer buddies were available to help members transition to submitting their service hours on-line.  Last but not least, Al Bear made an appearance when he was awarded to a new member for one month for excitement and travel.

Using the tune of Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer:

You know Reno, and Fresno, and Diablo Valley,

Downey, and Long Beach; they all give to Sally.

But, do you recall… the best A L chapter of all…

A L of Greater Placer, always helping those in need,

And when you see our members, you’ll agree they go full speed.

We teach kids not to bully, visit the elderly,

Dress people for the workforce, and we even help kids SEE.

When, one year, our Treasurer said, “Funds are running low;

We need to raise some money fast.”  We tried B-I-N-G-O!

We do so much for others, that we can shout out with glee

“A L of Greater Placer, we’ll go down in history!!”
