As part of our participation in ACTION! Week, Feb 22-26, which celebrates Anne Banning’s birthday, the founder of Assistance League, the caring members of our Chapter purchased requested new books for Boys & Girls Club of Placer County and provided computer mice and earbuds and white boards. All will be eagerly used by the children! Pictured are a few of the excited children who will be able to choose a book of their very own to take home! Some children have never had their own new book. Many other used books were donated to the Club to supplement the libraries at any of the Club’s four sites. The availability of interesting, fun books encourages children to read and increases literacy, the path to success in school.
