SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Back to School! Assistance League of Greater Placer members work all summer to provide school supplies to children from grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.  Our volunteers deliver these precious and needed school items to pre-designated Placer County locations working with Kids First in Roseville and Auburn and North Tahoe Family Resource Center in Tahoe. In addition, our school volunteers facilitate the delivery of items to local schools throughout Placer County, after receiving requests from school personnel.

“When the children arrive they are given a box of school supplies,” says Committee Chair Marysue Tiffany, “The expressions on their faces, especially the Kindergartners, first, second and third graders, are priceless.  Those faces make us volunteer to do this every year.  It is so worthwhile.”

In the 2020 – 2021 school year. Assistance League members provided 1,678 children with new backpacks and school supplies.

This is an outreach program that provides new school supplies to students who are referred by counselors in Placer County public schools or KidsFirst Center in Placer County.  Each child is given the supplies needed for the school year according to his/her grade.

Students receive a backpack loaded with supplies they will need for their upcoming year at school.

Third grade students in schools in Placer County receive dictionaries to aid them with their school work.

We love our new backpacks.  Now we are all set for school.  Thanks Assistance League.
