Scholarships

Scholarships are in full swings as we open the spring semester. College fairs like this one at Splendora High School are getting students ready as the application window for ALMC high school scholarships opens February 1st. Karen Spartz and Karen Paige talked to 93 seniors at their annual college fair on January 12.

Community Partner Outreach

Community Partner Outreach recently purchased a new washer and dryer for Journey Home, a nonprofit that offers homeless pregnant clients a comfortable and safe family environment.

Operation School Bell

In addition to shopping events for elementary and high school students, we recently supplied clothing to Runyan and Sawmill Elementary Schools and Stubblefield Academy clothes closets.  The picture is at the clothes closet as Runyan Elementary.

Pineview Christmas Party

The Christmas party as Pineview at Grogan’s Mill was sponsored by our CPO (Community Partners Outreach) Team.  We provided lunch and a gift for each resident that attended the party. Entertainment was provided by our own Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus (John and Karen Gummo).

Long Time Thrift Shop Shoppers

Stephanie Silva and her mom Cathy are both long time customers of our thrift shop.  One of Cathy’s most recent purchases were these Halloween costumes.  Thing One and Thing Three are pretty cute.  By the Way, Thing Two is Cathy’s other daughter is a teacher at a local elementary school.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council for Assistance League of Montgomery County met on October 22.  Board members pictured ae Josh Fowler, John Husbands, Judge Kathy Hamilton, Carrie Galatas, Jaclyn Franks, Caroline Mason, Pippa Williams, Kymberly Crane.   Also pictured are Asssistance League volunteers Kristie Guerriero, Trudy Halvorson and President Jane Atwell.
