McLean and Terry

When I retired in 2013 I knew I wanted to join the Assistance League of Rancho San Dieguito. I was aware of the National Assistance League and knew of Operation School Bell from my husband, a retired elementary school district superintendent. The various philanthropies of ALRSD spoke to both my heart and head: filling definite needs in our local communities, funded by the work of a committed all-volunteer membership. No paid CEO or staff, with all proceeds returning to our local communities. Using the funds to help people locally is important to Lean and me. I remember speaking with my mom’s distant cousin, a well-known philanthropist in Oklahoma, who told me, “I can’t take care of the whole country or even the whole state, but I can definitely take care of the people of Tulsa [his hometown].”My husband and I are committed to the mission of ALRSD and want to help ensure our chapter’s future. That is why it was important to us to change our will and trust and become part of the ALRSD Legacy Society.
