Assistance League of Santa Monica has awarded over $1,000,000 in college scholarships since 2001. We provide financial assistance to high school students through the Santa Monica High School Scholarship Fund, as well as to Olympic High School in Santa Monica. For more information and an application form visit the Santa Monica High School web site.  We have recently begun to offer scholarships to former and current foster youth through the Santa Monica College Guardian Scholars program.

Funding is continued to successful students in need throughout their two or four years of college.  Every year, new scholars are awarded funds and many continue to receive funding while they continue their higher education.  Our scholars attend colleges and universities in California and throughout the nation and the world.

We are very proud of all our scholars. In May 2016, we received the Very Special Person Award from the Santa Monica-Malibu PTA Council for our volunteer service to the PTA by providing college and trade school scholarships to Santa Monica and Olympic High Schools.

2018 Assistance League of Santa Monica Scholarship recipient from Santa Monica College Guardian Scholars Program for foster students:

“…I have found being a foster youth has made me resilient.  Because of my experience sometimes it is difficult to ask for help, however, the flipside, being a foster has also made me independent.  I have found myself in some of the most amazing places over the last few years after moving across the country by myself without knowing anyone here….   I know that life is a gift and all we really have is today so I make the most of it despite my circumstances….  While I would greatly benefit from this scholarship, I also understand if another student is found to have a greater need, their success is my success as well.”
