Assistance League of Santa Monica has awarded college scholarships since 2001 and has awarded $830,000 for 366 scholarships to 148 scholars in Santa Monica. We provide financial assistance to high school students through the Santa Monica High School Scholarship Fund, as well as to Olympic High School in Santa Monica. For more information and an application form visit the Santa Monica High School web site.

Funding is continued to successful students in need throughout their two or four years of college.  Every year, new scholars are awarded funds and many continue to receive funding while they continue their higher education.  Our scholars attend schools such as: University of California at Los Angeles, Merced, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz and California State University at Northridge, Los Angeles, and San Diego, as well as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Ithaca College and Reed College.

We are very proud of all our scholars. In May 2016, we received the Very Special Person Award from the Santa Monica-Malibu PTA Council for our volunteer service to the PTA by providing college and trade school scholarships to Santa Monica and Olympic High Schools.

I quite fancy school. They say knowledge is power — when I was younger I didn’t not quite believe it until now, as it is opening my mind to new concepts in life. I have been using the money to pay my tuition, parking fees, books, and private tutor. I will continue for the next semester and school year, going to college at Santa Monica College in the pursuit of knowledge and the opportunity to transfer to UCLA. I’d like to thank you again for the opportunity you are giving me. I am very grateful to you. They say it only takes one person to truly incite change in the world and I believe you are that person.
