Backpacks filled with school supplies are distributed in the fall to all Santa Monica/Malibu Unified School District schools and to School on Wheels for distribution to students who are in need. Last year, 800 backpacks with age-appropriate books were given to students.

Dental Program provides vouchers for dental care for students in both Santa Monica/Malibu and West Los Angeles Unified School Districts. Care is provided through The Children’s Dental Center of Greater Los Angeles in Inglewood. Referral forms are provided by the health office of the participating schools.

Emergency Clothing (sweat pants, hooded sweatshirts, socks and underwear) is bought and delivered, on request, to all Santa Monica/Malibu Unified Schools as well as the 7 Los Angeles Unified School District elementary schools in our area. Last year we donated to the Santa Monica and Olympic High School Emergency Funds.  We also donate clothing to Stuart House, a model program serving sexually abused children through Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.

Vision Program provides vouchers for vision screening and glasses for students in the Santa Monica/Malibu Unified School District. Care is provided by Optometric Options. Students receive vision checkups and glasses when needed. Children are recommended by school nurses and teachers.

Literacy Program provided Recess Reading at Roosevelt School last year as well as a children’s book drive for Make A Difference Day.
