At the Assistance League of Redlands’ annual meeting this month, two Redlands Unified School District staff members thanked the league’s Dental Center committee and volunteers.
Each year, volunteers organize teams, including a registered hygienist, to go to schools and check kindergartners for dental problems. The children receive dental supplies, instructions on how to brush and floss and information on foods that can promote dental health.
Students and family members who qualify may get dental work done at the Assistance League’s low-cost Dental Center.
At the meeting, Lisa Elliott, the school district’s lead registered nurse with special services, and Gail Anderson, office assistant with special services, presented Dental Center volunteers pictures of teeth signed by students from the 15 schools that participated in the program.
