Gloria Mazza, Camilla Wolak, Doris Sakamoto and Beverly Lewis-Clarke welcome shoppers to the reopened Assistance League thrift store July 5 in Stockton.
About six weeks ago, Assistance League of Stockton Thrift Shop closed for a total remodeling. The shop, at 1319 E. Harding Way, reopened July 5.
The store is twice as large as before, totally upscale, and filled with merchandise.
Assistance League is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization; all proceeds from the shop go to support four philanthropic programs for the community, such as Operation School Bell, which dresses underprivileged schoolchildren; Comfort Kits for children entering foster care; puppet shows to teach tolerance and being safe; and Book Buddies for struggling readers.
